How do I upload
a personal photograph?
Unfortunately, our website does
not yet support the uploading of
photographs, but when you are
creating or updating your
personal profile, you have the
option of including the URL of a
personal photograph. This
means that if you have a picture
of yourself somewhere already on
the internet then you can
include it in your personal
profile. Simply locate the
photograph online, and right
click the image. From the menu
that pops up choose "Properties"
and then highlight the web
address (http://...).
Copy this address by pressing
Ctrl-C. Paste this into
the Picture URL field when
editing your profile, and your
picture should show up in your
public personal profile.
The photo will not be
automatically resized, so make
sure to select a picture that
has reasonable dimensions such
as a facebook photo.
My picture is
the wrong size, what can I do?
There are many photo editing
websites that make it very easy
to resize your photo while
maintaining its proportions.
Try
http://resizr.lord-lance.com/.
Of course, now you will have to
upload the resized photo to the
internet and put its new URL
into your profile.
When will I get
paid?
You are responsible for
collecting your hourly wage from
your student at the time of your
appointment. Students are
required to pay in cash at the
time of their appointment with
you unless you and your
student agree on other
arrangements.
When and how
much will I be billed?
You will be sent a PayPal
invoice via email on the first
of each month. You will be
charged 25% of your earnings
through us for the prior month.
Late fees are described in our
Terms and
Conditions.
How do I pay
Austin Tutors?
The PayPal invoice you will
receive at the first of each
month is payable with all major
credit cards, an online check,
or through a PayPal account.
How will I know
when a student schedules an
appointment with me?
You will receive an appointment
notification as soon as a
student books an appointment
with you. This
notification will be sent to the
email that you provided when you
accepted our terms and
conditions. This is the
same email address that is
listed in your personal profile.
How do I make a
weekly or other recurring
appointment with a student?
Only your student can
create appointments with you,
but it is easy for them to
schedule multiple sessions with
our scheduling system.
How does the
rating system work?
Students who have had you as a
tutor are eligible to take a
standard feedback quiz about you
and leave comments. Your
average feedback quiz score and
student comments will be
viewable by anyone who visits
this website.
In the tutor results page (the
page that is displayed when a
tutor search is made from the "Find
a Tutor" page),
tutors will be ranked based on
their average feedback scores.
The highest rated tutors for a
given topic will be listed at
the top.
How can I get
students to review me?
Your students will be asked to
leave reviews for you after each
appointment. After an
appointment, a student may login
on our home page, and follow a
link to complete a review of
you.
Try encouraging your students to
review you, since the process is
optional on their part.
How do you keep
people from creating fraudulent
reviews?
Our reviews system allows only
an existing student who has had
an appointment with us in the
recent past to login and access
the review form.
